2013 Lionel ARC Engine Detail and Hood Hinge Statement
With the rise of materials and production costs in China, Lionel made a decision to modify the engine detail of the 2013 Action Racing Collectibles die-cast. With this change, Lionel was able to avoid a $10 price increase which would have impacted the end consumer.
The revised engine design is now similar to the level of detail found on other major manufacturers of die-cast cars at this price point in the United States and Europe.
Lionel has also initiated a hood hinge redesign which will begin rolling out on all hood-open ARC die-cast in mid-Spring 2013. With this redesign, the hoods will open more fully and will also be easier to open and close.
